Sanjib Sanghi

Biography

Sanjib Sanghi is a seasoned Chartered Accountant with more than 28 years of professional experience across practice, digital transformation and capacity building. He is a Partner at S N Banerjea & Co and currently serves as a Central Council Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the 2025–29 term. He is also a Member of the GCC Advisory Committee under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. Known for his strategic foresight and innovative mindset, Sanjib is committed to advancing global standards within the accounting profession and enabling Indian Chartered Accountants to participate more effectively in international markets. At ICAI, he serves as Chairman of the Global Trade and Services Committee, where he leads initiatives focused on positioning India as a global centre for trade, services and Global Capability Centres. His work supports international collaboration, global market integration and the strengthening of the GCC ecosystem. He also serves as Convenor of the Continuing Professional Education Directorate and Vice Chairman of the Sustainability Reporting Standards Board, contributing to future-ready professional learning and sustainability governance aligned with global standards. During his tenure as Chairman of the Eastern India Regional Council of ICAI for 2024–25, Sanjib led several major initiatives, including Udaan — Celebrating Womanhood, Voice of Diamonds and Run@75: Reskill, Upskill, Newskill. He also launched Best Practices for SMPs, a digital knowledge repository for practitioners, and hosted the 49th Regional Conference of EIRC of ICAI. Beyond ICAI, Sanjib contributes to several professional, business and social organisations. He serves as President of the BBD BAG Professional Association, Co-Chairman for Information Technology at the Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Honorary Secretary of the Accountants’ Library, Charter Member of TiE Kolkata, Trustee of Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, Siliguri, and a Cabinet Member of Lions Clubs International. He has also co-authored books on digital transformation and MSME growth. His professional vision focuses on strengthening digital infrastructure, aligning professional education with global standards, expanding corporate collaboration and enhancing India’s global presence in financial regulation, trade, services and industry development.
