Biography

Gurpreet Babbar is a qualified Fellow Actuary with dual qualifications from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, United Kingdom, and the Institute of Actuaries of India. He currently serves as Senior Manager at Genpact and is also an accomplished public speaker. His professional experience includes work across leading insurance companies, consulting firms and Big Four organisations. His areas of expertise include Solvency II reporting, shareholder reporting, business planning, Prophet and other actuarial-modelling platforms, risk management, pricing and valuations. During his career, Gurpreet has received recognitions including the CEO's Award, the I Am Exceptional Award and the Emerging Team Leader Award. For the past nine years, he has addressed professional, academic and student audiences, including gatherings of more than 1,000 participants. He has delivered more than 45 guest lectures, seminars and speaker sessions at leading colleges and schools. Gurpreet also contributes as a volunteer to actuarial committees associated with the IFoA and IAI. His professional philosophy is reflected in the guiding thought: ‘What got you here won’t get you there.’ He views the actuarial profession as extending beyond mathematics, statistics and assumptions, and believes that actuarial training can serve as a foundation for leadership, strategic thinking and global professional growth.
