Asha Murali

Biography

Asha Murali is a seasoned insurance and actuarial leader with more than 30 years of experience across statutory roles, financial reporting, strategy, risk management, products and investments. She currently works as an Independent Consultant and has held several senior positions in the Indian life insurance industry. She served as Senior Executive Vice President and Appointed Actuary at ICICI Prudential Life and as Chief Actuary and Appointed Actuary at PNB MetLife. More recently, she led the Actuarial practice at BDO India. Asha is a Fellow of both the Institute of Actuaries of India and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, United Kingdom. She is actively involved in shaping the actuarial profession. She serves as the Honorary Secretary of the Council of the Institute of Actuaries of India and chairs its Professionalism and Ethics Committee. She also serves on the Joint Expert Group established by IRDAI for the implementation of Ind AS in insurance companies.
